What about college?

There are probably not too many colleges in the United States without homeschoolers in their ranks.

Many colleges now set up at homeschool curriculum fairs and advertise in homeschool magazines to recruit homeschoolers. Many also offer special homeschool scholarships and aid.

Colleges want homeschool students!

But each college does have its own entrance requirements for homeschoolers, so it’s best to contact the colleges you’re interested in early and ask for a written copy of their homeschool policy, so you can work toward fulfilling the necessary requirements.

It can be especially helpful to talk to other homeschool parents who have children in college. Getting into college can be a bit of a hassle for any student, homeschool or otherwise, so it helps to follow in the footsteps of someone who’s “been there, done that.”

Homeschool students can take the SAT or ACT at any of the locations those tests are given. See their web sites for more information. SAT: www.collegeboard.com  ACT: www.act.org
